Celebrating 100 Years of Akarana Golf Club – Our Centenary Year

In 2027, Akarana Golf Club will proudly celebrate an extraordinary milestone—100 years of golfing history, friendship, and community.

We are excited to announce a year-long programme of events and celebrations that will honour our rich heritage while looking forward to the future of our club. Whether you are a long-standing member, a newer member, or part of our wider Akarana community, there will be many opportunities to join in this special occasion.

Our Centenary celebrations will officially commence with a Centenary Gala Dinner on Saturday, 17 April 2027, to be held at the Ellerslie Racecourse. This will be a memorable evening bringing together members, past members, guests, and friends to celebrate 100 years of Akarana Golf Club.

Throughout April, May, and June, the club will also host a series of Centenary High Teas, providing a wonderful opportunity for members to come together, reconnect, and celebrate the club's history in a relaxed setting.

Golf will naturally be at the heart of our Centenary year. Highlights will include:

• The New Zealand Masters Tournament in February 2027.
• A range of competitive and social Centenary golf events throughout the year.
• Interactive fun days featuring marquee hospitality and entertainment.
• The inaugural Centenary Trophy, to be contested in April 2027, which we hope will become a lasting tradition for the club.

To help commemorate this significant milestone, an exclusive range of Centenary merchandise will be available from October 2026, giving members the opportunity to celebrate and be part of this historic occasion.

We are also delighted to be producing a Centenary Book, capturing the remarkable history of Akarana Golf Club, the people who have shaped it, and the many memorable moments over the past 100 years. This publication will serve as a lasting tribute to our club's proud legacy.

Planning is well underway, with further announcements to be made as we move closer to our Centenary year. A dedicated Centenary page on the Akarana Golf Club website along with our social media platforms,  will be regularly updated with event information, booking details, news, and important announcements, ensuring members can stay informed and share in the excitement as the celebrations approach.

We look forward to celebrating this once-in-a-lifetime milestone with all our members and the wider Akarana family as we honour our past and celebrate our future together.
