Pace of Play – Akarana Golf Club
At Akarana Golf Club, we pride ourselves on providing an enjoyable and efficient golfing experience for all members and guests. A key part of this is maintaining a steady Pace of Play, ensuring that everyone can enjoy their round without unnecessary delays.
Target Time for 18 Holes
-
The expected time for a group of four to complete 18 holes is no more than 4 hours.
-
For groups of three, aim for 3 hours 45 minutes, and for two-ball groups, around 3 hours 30 minutes.
Pace of Play Guidelines
To help achieve this pace, we encourage the following:
1. Play Ready Golf
-
Be prepared to hit when it's safe — don’t wait unnecessarily for honors.
-
Hit when ready, especially off the tee, in the fairway, or on the green.
2. Keep Up With the Group Ahead
-
Your place on the course is directly behind the group in front, not ahead of the group behind you.
-
If there is a hole open in front and the group behind is waiting, invite them to play through.
3. Limit Time Spent on Lost Balls
4. Be Efficient on the Greens
-
Read your putt while others are putting.
-
Leave your bag or cart on the side of the green closest to the next tee.
-
Putt out where practical rather than marking short putts.
5. Keep It Moving Between Shots
-
Walk briskly between shots and be ready to play when you arrive at your ball.
-
Play your shot before helping a playing partner search for their ball, if appropriate.
Group Responsibility
All players in a group are equally responsible for maintaining pace. If your group falls behind, please:
Staff Monitoring
Our marshalls and staff may remind groups about slow play. We appreciate your cooperation in keeping the course flowing smoothly for everyone.
